Find the Gurus in Your Niche Market
This is Step #5 for 30 Days to Starting a Niche Business. Each of the steps to creating a niche business will be documented in more detail.
All you are looking for here is list of gurus or companies who can help you market your product or service. You don't need to contact them just yet.
The Marketing Gurus
These are people who can give you instant credibility with your target market. Whether they sell something themselves or are a trusted spokesperson for your niche, they have the means to get your name in front of a lot of potential clients.
Complimentary Companies in Your Niche Market
These are companies that market to your same niche, but with a different product. What you're looking for is someone who would be willing to cross-market your product (for a financial incentive of course) but wouldn't cannibalize their sales.
What Kind of List?
I think that you need to get a list as big as possible. When we rolled out our online marketing system for dentists, we built up a list of over 1,000 companies and people. Of course, I didn't do it all myself. Remember, I'm Lazy and I outsouce everything.
Make sure you get their name, company name, address, website, and e-mail address. When you're all ready with your product, you will reach out to these people with a generous offer if they are interested in putting in a plug for your product. This form worked pretty well for us in generating some reseller clients.
But that's all for another day. Just look for all the gurus you can find in your niche market and save that list for a few steps down the road.
