What I Outsourced and Automated this Week
Outsourcing and Automating our Lazy Business
I wake up every day thinking about things that I could improve, automate, and outsource. This is really the only way that I can make my web site and online marketing business be highly profitable, highly successful, and almost totally hands-off.
Outsourcing
- Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Campaigns Back-Up - This is a very tedious and manual task to go through and back-up our campaigns regularly. By having a personal assistant do it for me, it saves me an hour. Not big savings, but still something that needs to be done, that I don’t like doing.
Automation
- Pay-Per-Click Report Generation - We would run reports as needed for our Pay-Per-Click campaigns, usually on a weekly basis. Often the information was different among accounts. Now that is done completely automated every week, for every account. And I can easily upload the data into our reporting engine for easy analysis. It will save me hours every week and allow me to more rigorously refine each campaign.
- Web Site Back-Up - With the help of some good back-up programs, we are now automating the back-up of our client websites on a regular basis. While we did back-ups manually, there was always a concern that changes would be made but not backed-up properly. There was also a concern about the back-ups not being remote. Now that is all automated and while it doesn’t save a huge amount of time, it does give more peace of mind - so I can be Lazy and not have to be bothered with an issues like a website being completely lost.
I got a HUGE outsourcing task that I’m working on now, which should save us hours of work every week, reduce errors, improve the time to delivery, and hyper-improve the effectiveness of some of our services. It’s my Laziest idea yet.
